Why Food Magazine?
I asked myself that out of all the kinds of magazines, why'd I decided to select only food magazine?
My mom has cooked different kinds of foods for me since I was little. She absolutely loves to cook and wanted to pursue culinary when she was young but couldn't due some unfortunate circumstances. However, when once I came into her life, she had the privilege to experiment all her cooking skills of good food obviously, on me!
Growing up, the book shelves in my house have always been stocked up with my mom's recipe books and food magazines. Infact, when I was little, I would think that magazines are only about food until I came in grade KS-2 and realized that there are so many different kinds of magazines. But, even if I entered a library and went into the magazine section, I'd only pick up food magazines as I had created a different kind of bond with them.
Form a logical perspective, creating a food magazine would have been much more easier and something I could personally relate to as I've grown up with them. I already know several designs of a food magazine, how a food magazine can catch a reader's eye, what type of content does a food magazine hold, etc.
Additional to that, I also had my in-house chef, my mom, who'd create mouth watering dishes for me to photograph for the pictures in my magazine.
So to sum it all up, opting for a food magazine was not just a logical decision, but a decision I am personally connected to.
