Statement of Intent

For my AS level project, I wanted to create a magazine because I find the media industry to be really interesting. The creative and engaging way that magazines combine words and pictures makes them awesome. I decided to create a magazine for a few reasons:

First of all, I think magazines are fantastic because I can use their eye-catching images and captivating narratives to pique readers' interest. I know how to make things come together harmoniously so that readers are enthused about the books they're reading.

With a magazine, I can also discuss a wide range of topics. I am able to discuss news, culture, fashion, and lifestyles. This will allow me to demonstrate my versatility as a content creator and ensure that my magazine will appeal to a wide range of readers.

I'm also doing this because I want to discuss the impact that media has on us. I want to examine the messages we receive from various media and how they impact our behavior and thought processes. I'm hoping that by doing this, viewers and readers will be more reflective.

I'm learning a lot from the process of creating this magazine. I'll become more adept at creating layouts, selecting appropriate fonts, and crafting catchy headlines. Learning practical skills is more important than focusing solely on academic work.

Finally, I want people to start talking about this magazine. I want them to reflect on what they've read and consider the validity of their beliefs. My goal is to establish a forum where individuals can express their opinions and participate in discussions concerning media and culture.

So, by making this magazine, I'm trying to understand and add something meaningful to the world of media. Mixing pictures and words, exploring different topics, understanding how media affects us, learning new skills, and encouraging discussions – these are the reasons why making this magazine is important to me. I hope it helps people see how complex and influential media can be in our lives.
